Rustique music

Rustique are a seven piece band playing Mandolin, Fiddle, Guitar, Accordion, Penny Whistle, Banjo etc. The definition of their music is 'Trans Atlantic'. The band take music from that 'Rust-bucket' that is the past, and in their words " kick it into relevency for today". Rustique have an expression for this 'Kick'n the Rust Bucket'. “The key criteria is that the audience must want to get up and dance, or at the least want to sing along with us”.

At the end of the day, we only play because we enjoy it. We hope this is infectious to those listening to us.

The Rustique Tradition.

Rustique are not so much a traditional ‘Folk’ group as an acoustic band who like to take song styles from the past and make them relevant today.

Rustique songs and tunes are from varied traditions, you will hear influences from Irish,Shanties, Eastern European Gypsy,Cajun, Bluegrass and even Skiffle within their Repartee.

Rustique are writing new songs to suit their developing style and have recorded and released their new album 'Kick'n the Rust Bucket'. Cost for a CD is £5 each with £2 postage obtainable by leaving a message 'Send Me a C.D'  from the 'Book Us' page. We have also added samples to our website on the 'Songs' page - we hope you enjoy these.
