Rustique are a five piece band playing Mandolin, Fiddle, Guitar, Accordions, Penny Whistle, Banjo etc. The band take music from the past and in their words “Makes it relevent today” “The key criteria is that the audience must want to get up and dance, or at the least want to sing along with us”.
At the end of the day, we only play because we enjoy it. We hope this is infectious to those listening to us.

The Rustique Tradition.
Rustique are not so much a traditional ‘Folk’ group as an acoustic band who like to take song styles from the past and make them relevant today.
The majority of songs and tunes are from the Cajun, Irish and Old Timey tradition, but you will hear influences from Shanties, Eastern European Gypsy within their Repartee.
Rustique are writing new songs to suit their developing style, and hopefully they will be able to spend a little time in a studio soon to lay down some of their work to a high enough standard to make downloads worthwhile. Until then they have recorded songs live using a hand held recorder, this will at least give those interested an idea of what the band sounds like.
